As desired by the Family owner, the Meslay's castle Archives has been acquired through a private sale by the General Council of Loir -et-Cher , aided by the Archives of France for the sum of € 65,000 .
Hervé Lemoine , director of inter-departmental archives of France , writes: "Given the historical importance and interest of its acquisition as a significant set of legal activity of this family in the France of the Ancien Régime (... ) this private sale permits to not broken ( this collection ) and to maintain its integrity ." . He continues: "I am delighted with the General Council of the Loir-et- Cher, we can highlight , as it should be , an exceptional fund in connection with the National Archives , which also have large collections printed Ancien Régime . " And concludes:" Thanks to your sales, large parts of the heritage are rediscovered and the remarkable contribution of auctioneers in the enrichment of the national collections is noteworthy. "
